OneFleet Pro — Modernizing a Live Logistics Platform Without a Rewrite

A logistics SaaS platform in production since 2009, carried across three mobile generations and several .NET service layers while freight kept moving.

Role: principal architect and lead engineer (W-Interactive, Inc.). Focus: legacy .NET services, cross-platform mobile, document capture, and operational continuity.

Problem

Trucking and freight companies needed drivers on mobile devices: status updates, GPS stop tracking, geofencing, and proof-of-delivery capture, all tied into the dispatch software they already ran.

That dispatch software (Profit Tools) is installed at each client site. Replacing it was not an option, so the platform had to integrate with it and keep working through every upgrade on both sides.

What I built

  • DiSC Mobile and DPS: driver workflows, real-time status, GPS tracking, geofencing, and proof-of-delivery capture in live freight operations.
  • Integration layer: custom ASP.NET web services and .NET service layers around client-installed Profit Tools, so new features shipped without touching each client's core system.
  • Document intelligence: a proof-of-delivery scanning pipeline with PDF-to-TIFF conversion, cropping, deskewing, cleanup, and print preparation.
  • activeTRAC and activeMAP: tracking and mapping products on the same platform, now sold together as OneFleet Pro.

The apps

DiSC Mobile: stop actions, the driver's stop list, and signature options
DiSC Mobile · driver stop list, arrive and update actions, and remote or on-device signatures
DPS: capturing a delivery document with the camera and the optimized multi-page result
DPS · camera capture of delivery paperwork, cleanup, and multi-page documents

Modernization without a rewrite

The platform has been moved across several technology generations in place: Xamarin to .NET MAUI to Flutter on mobile, .NET WCF and ASP.NET services on the back end, Python automation, and SQL Anywhere alongside SQL Server.

Each move was staged. Old and new components ran side by side behind stable service contracts, so clients upgraded on their own schedule and no one lost a day of operations.

Result

OneFleet Pro has run live freight operations continuously since 2009. It serves 99 active client companies and more than 9,500 active users across four products, more than 15 years after its first release.

I work directly with operators, client IT staff, and stakeholders, from requirements through support.

Stack

C#, ASP.NET, .NET WCF, .NET MAUI, Xamarin, Flutter, Python, SQL Server, SQL Anywhere, Android and iOS.
